GE, Doosan To Develop Next-Generation Turbines, Generators

GE and Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co. Ltd. of South Korea have made a long-term agreement to work together to develop next-generation nuclear and fossil steam turbines and generators.

The two companies have collaborated in such technologies since 1976, resulting in more than 19 GW of fossil capacity in South Korea. They also have collaborated on ultra-supercritical large fossil designs.

GE and Doosan’s immediate focus will be developing a larger output steam turbine-generator for the next-generation nuclear reactors in South Korea.
