Wärtsilä To Provide Gen-Sets For Cabin Gas Plant Power Generation Project

Wärtsilä, a global supplier of decentralized power plant products, will provide three Wärtsilä 20V34SG gas engine generator sets to the Cabin Gas Plant Power Generation Project in British Columbia, Canada. The generator sets run on natural gas and produce a combined output of more than 26 MW.

The power plant will provide electricity to a natural gas processing plant, which will produce pipeline-quality gas from shale formations located in the Horn River Basin. The natural gas produced from the processing plant will be used to run the power plant.

The engine generator sets will be delivered in the third quarter of 2011, with the natural gas processing plant expected to be operational in the fall of 2012.
