Final green light for the investment of over €26.5 million for Isotta Fraschini Motori, that was already announced last year.

The public funding comes from the region Apulia, where IFM’s headquarter and manufacturing plant is located, in Bari.

The investment is mainly dedicated to R&D projects within the IFuture initiative of Fincantieri group (IFM’s parent company) that aims at developing a new engine for industrial applications along with a version for the maritime market. It will include the addition of 32 new jobs bringing the total headcount to 163 people.

The IFuture initiative was presented last year when IFM also celebrated its 120-year company anniversary. Giuseppe Bono, CEO of Fincantieri, was quoted at the time saying: “We don’t have to be afraid of the future. Who is afraid of it, might end up not having a future.”
