Marintec China rescheduled again over Covid concerns
10 May 2022
Event was originally set for December 2021, then moved to July 2022
The 21st International Maritime Exhibit (Marintec China) has once again been rescheduled over Covid concerns.
The biennual event, which typically draws more than 70 000 attendees and 2200 exhibiting companies, was originally scheduled for December 2021 in Shanghai. Covid concerns then led to the event being rescheduled to June 28-July 1. Shanghai has increased pandemic restrictions as China adheres to a “zero tolerance” strategy to fight Covid outbreaks.
Event organizers said that in order to meet the needs of Shanghai’s epidemic prevention and control, the show at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) had to be postponed again until Dec. 7-10. The exhibition venue will move to Shanghai New International Expo Center. “Marintec China, which has grown up in China’s reform and opening up, has not changed its original intention for more than 40 years,” organizers said in a news release. “The advancement and development of science and technology in the dynamic industry is our responsibility, and it has received high support from friends from all walks of life at home and abroad.”
More than 96% of exhibitors have maintained their participation plans, and many new exhibitors have applied for participation, organizers said.
