Ansaldo Energia to supply four turbines to Azerbaijan

AE94.3A gas turbine produces 340 MW

Ansaldo Energia will supply four gas turbines to Azerenergji, the largest electricity producer in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The agreement includes the supply of the four AE94.3A turbines and is valued at more than €160 million.

The Ansaldo Energia’s four AE94.3A gas turbines will be installed as an additional combined cycle plant at the Azerbaijan power plant, located in the city of Mingachevir. With this new supply, the plant will have two gas turbines for each steam turbine, resulting in a significant increase in efficiency and a decrease in gas consumption, Ansaldo Energia said.

“We are proud to have been acknowledged as the main partner of this important energy project in Azerbaijan, a new market full of potential,” said Giuseppe Marino, CEO of Ansaldo Energia.

The AE94.3A gas turbine produces 340 MW of electrical power, with an efficiency of 40.3% in standard conditions. Ansaldo Energia has installed 80 combined cycle units and 16 open cycle units in 16 countries worldwide.

The signing of the contract between Ansaldo Energia and Azerenergji – the largest electricity producer in the Republic of Azerbaijan – took place today in the presence of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the Minister of Made in Italy and Enterprise Adolfo Urso.
