e Fuel Alliance eFuel Alliance promotes alternative fuels

Kohler has revealed that the company has joined the eFuel Alliance. The European organisation represents the interests of companies producing synthetic fuels from renewable energy on an industrial scale.

Efuels are produced from water and CO2 from renewable sources. The type of fuel an engine uses determines its overall emissions, with efuels put forward as reducing the amount of emitted pollutants.

Supporting efuels as an alternative to conventional fuels is said to help protect the climate.

“Kohler is proud to be a member of the eFuel Alliance,” said Nino De Giglio, director of Marketing, Communication and Channel Management at Kohler Engines. “E-fuels, electric motors and hybrid solutions represent an additional solution for the reduction of CO2 emissions.

“At Kohler we have always been innovation-oriented; that’s why we are ready to develop clean energy solutions for our customers and the users of their machines and equipment. We are thus committed to playing an active role in the new association.”

Due to the intensity of industrial applications and long operating hours, vehicles need an energy-dense fuel which support rapid refuelling. Such products as synthetic or biogenic fuels, use din combination with other power sources (hybrid drives, etc.) could help with reducing related emissions.
