SKF acquires maker of Europafilter filtration system

By Jack Burke01 September 2021

SKF, the Swedish manufacturer of bearings, seals and lubrication systems has completed the acquisition of EFOLEX AB, a manufacturer of industrial lubrication and oil filtration systems.

Swedish-based EFOLEX offers offline filtration systems used in process manufacturing and energy industries. The company manufactures and distributes the Europafilter-branded filtration system.

Europafilter was launched in 1990 as a commercial product and since then we have developed the systems and learned even more about tribology. The Europafilter system is in use by thousands of customers in the process industry, power plants, marine and offshore and more. They currently have approximately 10 employees.

“In addition to being an interesting stand-alone product, the Europafilter technology is a good strategic fit with SKF RecondOil’s Double Separation Technology offer and will widen our overall lubrication management capabilities,” said Thomas Fröst, president, Industrial Technologies at SKF.
