Turbine Efficiency Group Acquires Gas Turbine Applications Inc.
04 December 2018
Turbine Efficiency Group has acquired Gas Turbine Applications Inc., an aftermarket service provider specializing in the Saturn and Centaur industrial gas turbines.
Gas Turbine Applications serves a longstanding customer base operating from facilities strategically located in Calera, Oklahoma, USA. Turbine Efficiency was founded in 2001 as an independent service provider for the full range of Siemens industrial gas turbines from 1 – 15 MW and provides all maintenance, repair, overhaul and testing of gas turbines and packages. The group operates from an overhaul facility in Lincoln, UK, with offices in Aberdeen, Dubai and Houston, and has resident Field Service Engineers in several key European locations. In 2016, the company was acquired by Core Capital Partners, a mid-market private equity investor supporting high-growth UK companies.
Turbine Efficiency Group said the acquisition creates a leading independent service provider for a wide range of gas turbines (SGT-100, SGT-200, SGT-300, TA, TB, Saturn, Centaur). The group will leverage its combined capabilities to service new and existing customers from overhaul facilities in the UK and US, and regional offices in Aberdeen and Dubai.
GTA will be led by Managing Director Rob Leach, supported by Operations Manager Mark Blake, who is remaining with the business.
“The acquisition of GTA represents the exciting completion of a key strategic objective in the ambitious expansion plans for Turbine Efficiency, bringing with it the extension of our global footprint and the Turbine Efficiency brand into the critical Americas market,” said Chris Turner, CEO of Turbine Efficiency. “We welcome our new colleagues at GTA into the Turbine Efficiency family and look forward to working with them as we take both companies forward together”
Turbine Efficiency Group and Gas Turbine Applications will be jointly exhibiting at booth 935 at PowerGen International in Orlando, Florida, USA, Dec. 4-6.
