Siemens To Supply CCPP To Russia

Siemens Energy has received an order for the supply of the main components for Yuzhnouralskaya GRES-2 combined cycle power unit (CCPP) in Russia. The owner of Yuzhnouralskaya GRES-2 is OJSC Third generating company of the wholesale electricity market (OJSC OGK-3). Power train purchaser is CJSC Atomstroyexport – EPC Contractor that will build the plant. Delivery of the components is scheduled for the summer of 2011, with operation scheduled to being at the end of 2012.

Siemens will supply a SCC5-4000F 1 S power train comprising an SGT5-4000F gas turbine with a capacity of 288 MW, a steam turbine, a hydrogen-cooled generator and the turboset I&C system. The plant has a single-shaft design, by which the main components – gas turbine, steam turbine and generator – are arranged on a single line of shafting.
