CCNR Certification for GE
GE Transportation’s marine business announced it has received certification from the Central Commission for Navigation of the Rhine (CCNR) for its family of eight- and 12-cylinder medium-speed diesel engines. With this certification, these engines are now designated to operate on the Rhine in five European countries – the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France and Switzerland.
GE continues its commitment to growing its diesel engine business by securing three key environmental certifications - CCNR, MARPOL, and EPA Tier I/II – allowing its engines to operate on inland waterways throughout the world. CCNR certification is pending on GE’s 16-cylinder marine diesel engine, according to the company.
