Two More GE LM2500+ Generator Sets for Russia
GE Energy has signed a contract to provide OAO Territorial Generating Company No4 (TGK-4) with two LM2500+DLE aeroderivative gas turbine generator sets for its Belgorod TEC power station in Russia. This is a follow-on order from two units shipped in 2006, which are currently in commercial operation. The power station will generate both heat and electrical power to reduce the cost of operation for the local power and district-heating grid.
The two LM2500+ gas turbine generators are each rated at 30 megawatts and are equipped with a dry low emissions system to reduce the nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. Natural gas will serve as the primary fuel source. The units will operate in cogeneration cycle to provide a total of 60 megawatts of electrical power and hot water for district heating to the local power grid in the Belgorod residential area. The contract also includes a modular control room where control system panels, batteries, chargers, operator terminal and motor control center will be located.
This will be the second power generation station with the same configuration in Belgorod city. The first station, Looch, began commercial operation in December 2005.
