Wärtsilä Sending Power To the Gulf

Wärtsilä has been received a contract to deliver an integrated propulsion system for two additional LNG offshore support vessels (OSV) to Harvey Gulf International Marine. Harvey Gulf now has a fleet of four LNG OSVs on order.

Wärtsilä will deliver an integrated system that includes the dual-fuel machinery, electrical and automation package, complete propulsion, and also the LNG fuel storage and gas conditioning system. The LNG storage capacity provides for more than a week of vessel operational time, the company said. Economy, reliability and winning project strategy in one integrated LNG solution.

The order includes three, 6-cylinder inline Wärtsilä 34DF generating sets; two LIPS FS300-S/WN compact steerable thrusters, two LIPS FT225M-D transverse thrusters; an integrated automation system (IAS) with power management system (PMS); and a complete LLC power distribution system that includes switchboards, transformers, power drives, motors and auxiliary equipment.
