Wood Group Signs Five-Year Extension With SPA

Posted on February 17, 2012

Wood Group GTS has received a five-year contract extension from Sacramento Power Authority (SPA) for the operations and maintenance of its SPA CoGen III facility in Sacramento, California, U.S.A.

The move brings the total contract term to 10 years. SPA is a Joint Powers Authority formed by the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) and the SMUD Financing Authority (SMUDFA).

The 160 MW SPA CoGen III project consists of a Siemens V84.2 gas turbine operating in cogeneration cycle, providing power and steam to the Campbell’s Soup facility adjacent to the power plant. Under this agreement, Wood Group GTS is responsible for care and custody of the plant, including daily operations and routine maintenance.

This contract renewal follows a similar extension of an O&M contract for SMUDFA’s Cosumnes Power Plant southeast of Sacramento in 2011.
