Black & Veatch Wins Chinese Power Plant Contracts
Black & Veatch Corporation, in partnership with Hebei Electric Power Design and Research Institute, announced that it has won contracts for the engineering design of two combined-cycle power plants - the Shi Dongkou and Jinling Combined-Cycle Generating Plants. Once complete, the projects will generate 1050 MW each (3x350 MW), providing electricity to the rapidly developing cities of Shanghai and Nanjing, China. The majority owner of the projects, Huaneng Power International (HPI), plans to have the plant's first units operating by mid-2006.
