Commercial Operations Active At Dave Gates Generating Station

NAES Corp., a broad-based provider of services to the energy industry, has initiated commercial operations at the Dave Gates Generating Station (DGGS) at Mill Creek, located near Anaconda, Montana, U.S.A.

DGGS, owned by NorthWestern Energy (NWE), is a 150 MW natural gas fired station that began construction in August 2009 and is considered a model for utilities needing to meet future regulation needs. The station is equipped with emissions control technology, according to the company. Completed at the end of 2010, DGGS is a regulating reserve plant, designed with operating flexibility and the capability to provide the reserve capacity necessary to maintain transmission system reliability and balance on a moment-by-moment basis as demand and resources fluctuate.
