L.A. Turbine has received an order to design and manufacture two magnetic bearing turboexpander machines, plus one spare mechanical center section, for installation at a U.S.-based ethylene processing facility.

The active magnetic bearing (AMB) units with a common seal gas system are mounted on an L.A. Turbine L3000 single skid frame and perform two-stage ethylene processing within the plant. L.A. Turbine is also responsible for the commissioning of the equipment.

Based in Valencia, California, U.S.A., L.A. Turbine designs and manufactures application-specific turboexpanders used in hydrocarbon processing, geothermal power generation and other industrial power recovery or refrigeration applications.

The company also specializes in aftermarket repair, redesign, maintenance and production of spare parts for all brands and configurations of turboexpanders worldwide.
