Outage Express Program Expanded to Europe

Posted on June 28, 2005

GE Energy announced the expansion of its Outage Express program to include Europe. The program was designed to ensure that the right parts are available when and where they are needed. The initial United States program offering included outage parts for Frame 3/5, 6B, 7E and 7EA gas turbine technology. While the European launch of this program specifically targets the heavy concentration of 6B turbines in Europe, GE expects that it will eventually expand the program to accommodate other technologies. The program was initially launched in January of this year.

The Outage Express container will arrive at a customer’s specified site, stocked with a full set of recommended outage replacement parts. Once a minimum purchase requirement is satisfied, customers are only required to pay for the parts that are consumed. Already, several U.S.-based utilities, planning fall outages, have contracted with GE Energy to take advantage of program.
