GE Opens Service Center In The U.K.

GE has opened of a new US$3 million (€2.1 million) aeroderivative gas turbine service center in Lincoln, United Kingdom. GE’s 17th aeroderivative gas turbine service center consolidates two sites in the United Kingdom and adds infrastructure and capabilities to support GE’s current and new onshore and offshore customers in the United Kingdom and Africa, the company said.

The Lincoln Aeroderivative Gas Turbine Service Center allows maintenance of GE aeroderivative gas turbines operating in the region, as well as on-site training facilities for all LM engine types.

This announcement continues a series of recent actions for GE’s energy business. From October to November 2010, GE has announced plans for building a facility in Petropolis, Brazil, expanding a power plant in India, supplying electrical equipment to the Middle East and opening an Energy Technology Center in Russia.
