Power Systems Mfg. Opens New Gas Turbine Component Repair and Reconditioning Facility

Power Systems Mfg., LLC (PSM), an Alstom Group company, announced a major expansion with the opening of its new 7061 square meter gas turbine component repair and reconditioning facility. The facility will be located at the company’s headquarters in Jupiter, Florida U.S.A. where they occupy 16 723 square meters and employ 255 people. The expansion is expected to add up to 100 new employees over the next three years.

The new state of the art shop was designed to incorporate green technologies and principles and is said to be the first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) registered gas turbine reconditioning facility in the world. The workshop also includes the most advanced “F “ class process technologies such as laser welding, high temperature brazing and heat treat, CNC (Computer Numerical Controlled) machining, HVOF (High Velocity Oxygen Fuel) and plasma coating, digital x-ray, and a complete metallurgical laboratory.

PSM is a global supplier of improved technology components for industrial gas turbines used by utilities and industrial companies to generate electricity. PSM’s product line includes stationary and rotating airfoil parts, low-emission combustion systems, and advanced components for Frames 6B, 7E/EA, 7FA, and 9E, as well as the GT6-5000F and 501F machines. These products incorporate the latest in materials, coatings and aero-thermal designs.
