MWM Optimizes TCG 2016 Engine Series
MWM, a provider of plants for decentralized power supply with gas and diesel engines, presented an optimized version of the TCG 2016 engine series with increased efficiency for biogas operation. The TCG 2016 C generator set is available in V8, V12 and V16 variants.
The company said enhancing the ignition and the Total Electronic Management (TEM) control system has provided better even load balancing over all cylinders. The anti-knock control has been improved and a new cylinder balancing concept has been introduced, the company said. The new version also features optimized butterfly valve construction, a new actuator for the gas mixer and a nano-paint-coated mixture cooler.
MWM reported that all these measures boosted the gen-set efficiency to reach a maximum of 42.8% (65% CH4 / 35% CO2) or 41.7% (50% CH4 / 50% CO2) in biogas operation.
The manufacturer will accept orders for all versions of the optimized TCG 2016 C series from June, with shipments forecasted for October 2011.
