Wärtsilä Gen-Sets To Be Used In Syria Power Plant
Wärtsilä, a global supplier of flexible power plants and services to the decentralized power generation market, has received a three-year Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contract from the Al Badia Cement JSC for its power plant.
The plant, located within the company’s cement factory grounds in the Abu Al Shamat area in Syria, will be the powered by five Wärtsilä 20V32 generator sets and one Wärtsilä 9L32 gen-set.
The plant will serve as the new cement facility’s sole source of electricity, be fitted with exhaust gas-fired boiler for its auxiliary heating system and be able to produce more than 45 MW of power, according to Wärtsilä.
Wärtsilä will operate and maintain the plant, employing and training about 20 local people.
