Wood Group Receives Contract For Israeli Power Plant
Wood Group GTS, an international energy services company, has received an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract worth US$875 million (€672.7 million) from Dorad Energy to build an 800 MW power plant in Israel.
The natural gas-fired Dorad Power Plant is expected to be online within 36 months and, when completed, will represent 8% of Israel’s total installed power generation capacity, the company said.
Wood Group GTS has full turnkey responsibility for the combined-cycle plant, from design, procurement and construction, as well as commissioning and handover. The combined-cycle power plant will use 12 natural gas-fired turbines connected to a heat-recovery steam generator that will provide steam to run two steam turbines.
