Alstom Combined-cycle Power Plant For Italy
Alstom has been awarded a contract from Energia SpA worth around US$426 million for the turnkey construction of, and maintenance services for, an 800 MW gas-fired combined-cycle power plant in southern Italy. The plant technology is based on two GT26 gas turbines in a multishaft arrangement with heat recovery steam generators, steam turbine and electrical generators, jet condenser and a dry cooling tower.
The contract covers the engineering, supply, erection and commissioning of the plant as well as long-term maintenance services for the gas turbines. It is expected to come into force within the next six months, when Energia has finalized project funding arrangements. The plant should enter into commercial operation in 2008.
