Plants to replace coal-fired power stations

Posted on October 29, 2013

Tognum subsidiary MTU Onsite Energy and regional Polish energy supplier Kogeneracja Zachód have announced intentions to form a partnership for the supply and maintenance of combined heat and power (CHP) plants.

The initial stage involves the supply and maintenance by MTU Onsite Energy of CHP plants that will produce a total of 12 MW of electricity for the three Polish cities of Białogard, Szamotuły and Łęczyca. In further projects over the coming years, both companies plan on working exclusively with each other to supply small to medium-sized Polish cities with environmentally-friendly energy from combined heat and power plants.

Kogeneracja Zachód is a Polish company which specializes in converting local coal-fired power stations into environmentally-friendly CHP plants which it then operates.
