MAN B&W Engines for China National Petroleum Vessels

MAN B&W Diesel A/S, Denmark has been awarded the contract to supply complete twin-screw medium speed propulsion packages for two 3730 kW Icebreaking multi-purpose working vessels in China. Both newbuildings, which will be built by Wuchang Shipyard, Wuhan, are to be operated by the China National petroleum Offshore Engineering Co. Ltd., Beijing (CNPOEC).

Shipment of the first vessel’s propulsion package to the yard is scheduled to take place from April 2006, whereas the shipment for the second vessel is planned to take place during June 2006. The completed newbuildings are expected to be taken over by the owner during first half of 2007.

The 3730 kW Icebreaking multi-purpose working vessels have been designed by the SDARI design institute and optimised for offshore work and icebreaking operations worldwide.
