The 33rd annual Power Generation survey is now available. The 2009 survey, published in the October issue of DIESEL & GAS TURBINE WORLDWIDE brought results that were considered in line with expectations. The survey period for 2010 will cover a full calendar year, from January through December. The 2010 Power Gen Survey will be published with our May issue and will include full year 2009 results.

The 2009 marine survey is now available. Order data reported for all sectors – marine auxiliary generation, diesel electric and mechanical drive – reflect volumes from years past. Weak global demand has clearly taken its toll on the marine industry – overall order data indicates a 42% year over year decrease in unit order activity. The survey period for 2010 will cover a full calendar year, from January through December. The 2010 Marine Propulsion Surveys will be published with our June issue and include full 2009 results.

Mechanical Drive Survey
The 4th annual mechanical drive survey is now available and wraps up this season’s annual survey reports. Overall, units were down, however, there was a slight power increase in mechanical drive gas turbines as a greater number of units were reported in the higher output categories. New for 2009, steam turbine orders have been added to this report. The survey period for 2010 will cover a full calendar year, from January through December. The 2010 Mechanical Drive Survey will be published with our July/August issue and include full 2009 results.
