Market Surveys

Only DIESEL & GAS TURBINE WORLDWIDE publishes three exclusive engine market surveys for the Power Generation, Marine Propulsion and Mechanical Drive industries. These well-regarded surveys track reciprocating and gas turbine orders and help track the health of the marketplace. The Power Generation Order Survey is published in October, the Marine Propulsion Order Survey is published in November and the Mechanical Drive Order Survey is published in December. These three issues have the highest visibility of the year and also enjoy excellent "shelf life" with our readers.

Power Generation Surveys
In our 31st Annual Power Generation Order Survey, DIESEL & GAS TURBINE WORLDWIDE is "Sounding Like a Broken Record", as it reports another record-breaking year for the large reciprocating engine markets. Gas turbine orders, too, made a significant gain in 2007 after posting a healthy increase last year. For the third year the annual survey reports data on a smaller category of engine output (0.5 to 1.0 MW) - the range of reciprocating engines from 500 to 1000 kW. Yes, the good news continues for manufacturers of related components, including generators, controls, silencers, etc.

Surveys are available as downloadable, electronic PDF files or in print copies of the October 2007, 2006 and 2005 issues of DIESEL & GAS TURBINE WORLDWIDE magazine. The surveys continue to include broad participation from the engine and turbine builders of the industry and thus reflect reliable and accurate data. We hope you find them useful.

Marine Propulsion Surveys
Our annual Marine Propulsion Order Surveys, in the November issue of DIESEL & GAS TURBINE WORLDWIDE, continue a tradition of reporting separate data for Mechanical Drive, Auxiliary Generator Set and Diesel-Electric propulsion systems. The 2007 survey, titled “Marine Engines Remain Strong, with Largest Units Resurging”, reports a slight decrease in small engine orders, but healthy increases in all of the other engine output categories, especially in the largest MW outputs.

Surveys are available in downloadable, electronic PDF files or in print copies of the November 2007, 2006, and 2005 issues of DIESEL & GAS TURBINE WORLDWIDE magazine. The surveys continue to include broad participation from the engine and turbine builders of the industry and thus reflect reliable and accurate data. We hope you find them useful.

Mechanical Drive Survey

In December 2007 we published the 2nd Mechanical Drive Order Survey, an exclusive to Diesel & Gas Turbine Publications. While many readers are familiar with the annual Power Generation and Marine Propulsion order surveys, there was always a question regarding engine orders destined for mechanical drive operation. So, we continue in our presentation of the "third leg of the stool" in the world of engines above 500 kW.

Surveys are available in downloadable, electronic PDF files or in print copies of the December 2007 and 2006 issues of DIESEL & GAS TURBINE WORLDWIDE magazine. The surveys continue to include broad participation from the engine and turbine builders of the industry and thus reflect reliable and accurate data. We hope you find them useful.
