New coolant for MWM engines

By Mike Brezonick10 August 2022

MWM is introducing a new coolant for MWM gas and diesel engines to the market. MWM Antifreeze Advanced is a silicate-free high-performance coolant with inhibitor technology for reliable frost and corrosion protection. The new coolant is suitable for all MWM gas engine series and plant configurations and can easily be refilled during maintenance work, the company said.

The purpose of coolant is to extract the combustion heat of the engine components bordering on the combustion chamber and to make it available as heat energy. By cooling the components, the coolant ensures reliable engine operation and improves the plant utilization. The MWM have been tested by the MWM service organization in intensive field tests. After extensive analyses in collaboration with a strategic partner, the inhibitor technology was selected for the new coolant MWM Antifreeze Advanced.

The high-performance coolant is free of silicate, phosphate, amine, nitrite, and boron and is suitable for all MWM gas engine series. MWM Antifreeze Advanced can be used for all plant configurations (exhaust heat exchanger in engine or heating circuit) and is available as a ready-to-use mixture. In the MWM coolant, only organic inhibitors are used for corrosion protection. These do not leave any hard deposits on the engine components, which could impair the heat transfer, the company said.

The corrosion protection inhibitors are not consumed during operation and thus enable a long useful life of the coolant. As MWM Antifreeze Advanced is a ready-to-use mixture, the coolant always has the right inhibitor and glycol concentration. This prevents incorrect dosing.

Apart from easy and secure handling, MWM said its MWM Antifreeze offers outstanding heat transfer and reliable frost and corrosion protection. MWM Antifreeze Advanced can also be used for MWM diesel engines.
